Your yard should be a sanctuary. Defend your space against mosquitoes and more with the Dynatrap® Outdoor Insect Trap. With a coverage area of up to ½ acre, this powerful, weather-resistant trap is perfect for protecting extra-large yards. To set up your insect-free zone, we recommend placing your trap 3-6 ft off the ground and 20-40 ft away from areas of enjoyment.
How it Works
The Dynatrap® Outdoor Insect Trap uses advanced technology to deliver unmatched control of mosquitoes and other flying insects. Here's how it works: the LED bulb generates UV rays that attract flying insects, day and night. As insects approach the device, a powerful fan pulls them into the catch basket. Once inside, a patented damper keeps them securely trapped.
Easy to Use
This device is incredibly easy to use - simply plug it in, turn it on, and leave it on 24/7 to effectively disrupt the mosquito breeding cycle. Maintenance is just as effortless. When the catch basket is full, you can empty it with the touch of a button. Plus, the easy-to-change LED bulb lasts 6x longer than fluorescent bulbs, so you don’t need to replace it often.
Understated Design
Sophisticated technology and ingenuity on the inside. Sleek and unassuming on the outside. The Dynatrap® Outdoor Insect Trap features an understated design that will seamlessly blend in with its surroundings while it protects your yard. When you factor in the powerful yet quiet fan, you’ll hardly even notice it’s there.
What We Catch
No more letting the buzzing, biting misery of flying insects disturb your time outdoors. The Dynatrap® Outdoor Insect Trap attracts, traps, and kills mosquitoes, flies, moths, gnats, wasps, yellow jackets, beetles, no-see-ums, and more, so you can take back your outdoor spaces. Plus, this trap is not designed to attract beneficial insects like honeybees or butterflies.
Bought two. Set one up so far. After two weeks the fan stopped working. It captures 95% other bugs and only 5% mosquitoes. And I had just purchased a bug zapper Octenol Lure to try to help lure mosquitoes to the trap.
We're sorry to hear you haven't yet seen the success that's typical of this trap. Placement is the key to its success. For assistance in determining the best placement for your unit, please contact us at 877-403-8727. We're happy to help.

The only negative I have ...

The only negative I have to share with DynaTrap ( I have a larger one) is the bulbs didn’t last long enough for what they coast! Hope since buying two models in last, that issue has improved! Several friends discussed the same problem!
This product is so good that I bought one for my children. I am also buying a second one for when we spend winter in Florida and not have to take it back and forth.
The main difference is this trap comes with a UV-LED light which needs to be replaced every 20,000 hours (approx. every 2.25 years) while the regular UV light for the older models needs to be replaced every 4 months/3,000 hours.

I need a replacement catch basket for my 1/2 acre DYNATRAP, how do I order?
Question by: Ken Williams on Nov 25, 2025, 3:44 PM
We don’t carry replacement parts for Dynatrap units. Replacement parts for these traps can be difficult to find since we don’t supply them to retailers. The only replacement parts we offer for the traps are the light bulbs.

Can it be plugged into USB, or can it be plugged into 220v?
Question by: David on Nov 26, 2025, 1:12 AM
Hi, thank you for reaching us. The trpas works only with a standard 120V outlet.

Is one of these units going to attract bees or butterflies? (Yellow jackets and moths are much like bees and butterflies!)
Question by: Jean Meredith on May 16, 2026, 9:32 PM
Thank you for contacting us. It doesn't trap bees or butterflies, since they aren't attracted to UV light or CO2, so there isn't anything about the trap that would draw them in.
