How it Works
The Dynatrap® Portable Outdoor Bug Trap uses advanced technology to deliver unmatched control of mosquitoes and other flying insects. Here's how it works: the LED bulb generates UV rays that attract flying insects, day and night. As insects approach the device, a powerful fan pulls them into the catch basket. Once inside, a patented damper keeps them securely trapped.
Multiple Operating Modes
The Dynatrap® Portable Outdoor Bug Trap features multiple modes to suit your needs. Use Standard Trapping Mode for moderate insect activity, or Enhanced Trapping Mode for high activity. Use Lantern Mode for ambient light without trapping. Activate Dusk-to-Dawn setting to automatically power the trap ON at dusk and OFF at dawn for trapping during peak mosquito activity.

For best results, place the trap in an area protected from strong wind and away from competing light sources. Make sure the fan intake and collection area are free of debris and that the unit has a full charge before use. The trap is designed to attract insects with UV LED light and draw them into the capture area, so allowing it to run continuously in a suitable location can help improve results.
Great concept, needs better seals , stronger fan.

I bought 3 of these at Costco. Within 5 weeks 2 of them stopped working. At least one had obvious condensation inside the unit following a couple days of rain. I really want a unit like this for my yard, the concept is a good one. Dynatrap needs to do more rigorous testing in respect to weather resistance. The unit could be bigger and have a larger solar collector. The unit did not have a tungsten emitter which would be nice. Even with the addition of a mosquito attractant the fan doesn’t pull in many bugs. I would buy gain if Dynatrap makes an effective solar unit that can survive a few seasons without dying.

Absolute waste of money, the only thing in it after a month is a spider. No wonder Costco Canada doesn't carry it anymore.

While the trap may capture a variety of flying insects, seeing limited catches after a period of use can indicate that conditions may not be ideal for attracting the target insects.

We bought the new 1/4acre model from QVC. We really want to use the solar option but can't get it to restart it's self the next night. It's in a sunny location but appears to be dead the next night. Why is it not recharging?

Thank you for your question. The solar feature on the Dynatrap® 1/4 Acre LED Portable Mosquito & Insect Trap is designed to extend cordless operation, but it is not intended to power the unit continuously overnight on its own.
When operating on battery power alone, the trap can run for approximately 5 minutes. If the unit is placed in direct sunlight while operating, the solar panel can help extend runtime for up to 9 hours of continuous operation under ideal conditions. For 24/7 insect protection, the trap must remain plugged into the included power cord.
If the unit is not connected to power, it may not have enough stored energy to automatically restart and run through the night, even when placed in a sunny location during the day. We recommend keeping the trap plugged in whenever continuous operation is desired.
