How it Works
The Dynatrap® Portable Outdoor Bug Trap uses advanced technology to deliver unmatched control of mosquitoes and other flying insects. Here's how it works: the LED bulb generates UV rays that attract flying insects, day and night. As insects approach the device, a powerful fan pulls them into the catch basket. Once inside, a patented damper keeps them securely trapped.
Multiple Operating Modes
The Dynatrap® Portable Outdoor Bug Trap features multiple modes to suit your needs. Use Standard Trapping Mode for moderate insect activity, or Enhanced Trapping Mode for high activity. Use Lantern Mode for ambient light without trapping. Activate Dusk-to-Dawn setting to automatically power the trap ON at dusk and OFF at dawn for trapping during peak mosquito activity.

I live in Thailand and want a couple of these badly but we have 220v here. I assume this product will work in that we can recharge the battery but I don’t think we can leave it plugged in 24/7. We might have to order extra batteries. Thoughts?

The Dynatrap® 1/4 Acre LED Portable Mosquito & Insect Trap is designed for use with a standard 120V outlet, so it should not be plugged directly into a 220V outlet without an appropriate power converter.
The rechargeable battery can still be used, but for continuous 24/7 operation you would need a compatible voltage converter or transformer. Using additional batteries for rotation may also help extend runtime if continuous plugged-in use is not possible in your area.

Are you able to turn off the light or is that attracting the bugs? Hard to answer but how bright is the light? Just to check, if just using a solar charge how long does it work?

The UV-LED light is what helps attract flying insects to the trap. This model also includes multiple operating modes, including a lantern mode for lighting and trapping modes for insect control, so light behavior depends on the selected mode. The brightness is intended for ambient outdoor use rather than as a high-output spotlight.

Can this be left running 24/7 plugged in even with rain? I have my doubts with the USB-C type charging cord. Thanks.

Thank you for contacting us and your interest in our products. It must remain connected 24/7 to break the breeding cycle. The trap is weather-resistant meaning it withstands water, but is not waterproof so if the rain is very heavy, we recommend covering it.
